LTC David P Jones is a retired U.S. Army Reserve officer with extensive experience in leadership, operational planning, and professional instruction. He served multiple overseas tours in support of the Global War on Terror (GWOT), bringing a real-world operational perspective to his approach to firearm training, risk management, and decision-making under stress.
His military background spans combat arms, staff assignments, and training roles, with a career focus on preparing individuals and teams to operate safely, lawfully, and effectively in complex environments. As the lead instructor for Assegai Survival Systems, LTC David P Jones emphasizes disciplined fundamentals, sound judgment, and accountability—ensuring students understand not only how to employ a firearm but also when and why it is appropriate to do so.
